I would like to take a little time to thank a few very generous forum members who've recently donated some cold hard currency to the Mod Theater. Your donations are greatly appreciated. With that, I'd like to acknowledge GiffE, Salombo and Lamron as some truly bad ass gents. I'd also like to give a shout out to Escape for all of his hard work in keeping the site a bit fresh.
Last, but not least, I'd like to thank everyone for making the Mod Theater what it is today. If you haven't noticed, we recently past 300,000 posts to become the largest forum on the internet become a moderately sized forum, but a damn fine one to say the least. |

Being that Call of Duty: World at War is officially on the shelves, whats your take on the title? If you've managed to get some time with the beta, what are your impressions? Infinity Ward has done a knock up job at keeping the franchise popular, but now its time for Treyarch to prove themselves worthy. Also, happy waiting to all of those doing the whole stand-in-line-till-midnight thing. |

Electronic Arts has been served yet another law suit in their constant DRM battle. At some point you have to calculate how much money is being spent in court versus the money you potentially save from pirates.
Lodged in federal court for the Northern District of California, both complaints whinge about EA's inclusion of SecuROM digital restrictions management (DRM) software with its games. One of the lawsuits cites a component of Spore and the other names a Sims 2 title. Richard Eldridge of Pennsylvania alleges that Spore Creature Creator Free Trial Edition secretly installed SecuROM on his PC without his knowledge or consent, an action that he calls "deceptive and unlawful."

Barack Obama has easily defeated John McCain in the race, winning the electoral college 349-147; making him the first African American president in United States history. The final popular vote was 62,302,690 million votes for Obama (52%), and 55,268,212 million votes for McCain (46%). We have yet to know if Obama can take the United States for the better and pull us out of an economic crisis. You can read more on the story anywhere, but Yahoo! is always good. You can watch Obama's victory speech here, and McCain's concession speech here. Hopefully he can live up to all of this "change" he promised. |

Yes, you read that correctly. Audiosurf is now available for purchase from Steam for an astounding low price of only $2.50. That is less than that cheeseburger meal you had for lunch today.

You earn points for clustering together blocks of the same color on the highway, and compete with others on the internet for the high score on your favorite songs.
Audiosurf on Steam includes The Orange Box soundtrack, integrated with the game to enable "Still Alive" surfing and more. In addition, Audiosurf is one of the first titles to leverage the recently announced Steamworks, offering full support for the Steam Achievements that appear on Steam Community profile pages.

Attempting to hit the jackpot with a successor to it's ever-popular Razor phone, Motorola has announced a new phone with a hefty price tag of $1999. Whoa! What makes this thing so expensive? Read more from Yahoo! Way overpriced and looks pretty hideous if you ask me.
So, what exactly does two grand get you? A 16 million color, fully-circular LCD display (first ever in a cell phone, according to Motorola), a 62 Carat lens crafted out of sapphire for scratch resistance, a stainless steel exterior with etched designs that takes two weeks to fabricate, a Swiss-manufactured bearing for the swivel, 700+ individual components, PVD coating (similar to high-end watches), and an all aluminum keypad.

Some of you may remember Ryan Miller stopping by my site after I left a comment on his temporary blog.
Ryan works for Microsoft as their PC Gaming Apostle under the Games for Windows/Games for Windows Live business unit. After he introduced himself into our forums, I had the pleasure of talking with him over the phone and came to the conclusion we finally have someone at Microsoft who is on our side and will be working for the PC Gaming customer. :salute:
Ryan let me know that his official site has gone live and his email box is open (you asked for it Ryan!).- Ryan's official site entitled: Socrossblog
- Ryan's official email address : ryan - (@) - socrossblog.com
I think we're all looking forward to finally getting some recognition from within Microsoft to help show developers and publishers that the PC gaming customer means business, not just piracy.
Thanks Ryan! |
